Well, that only took years!
I was going to wear this pretty wrap last week, but when I pulled it out, guess what I found… Yep, I finished knitting it back in 2017, and even blocked it. But I never wove in the ends. Ugh!
Of course, I needed to be out the door right away so I wore my purple beaded Viajante that day instead.
But weaving in the ends doesn’t take long so I took care of it earlier this week. And today, I got to wear this (finally!) finished piece.
The yarn is Katahdin from Miss Babs, in this fabulous color called Scarlet Letter. Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) – so lovely to both knit and wear. After the purple beaded version, I wanted the same kind of beaded border, but this time I added beads in the body as well.
I’m super grateful for Ravelry and being able to keep my notes there, including links to other people’s projects made from the same pattern. Ravelry is how I know that this Viajante actually came off my needles back in August 2017.
Notes for future reference:
Mods:
Increase is kfbf at the center stitch, with marker replaced after the first stitch through the front loop.
Decreases are only every fifth round, worked as a centered double decrease.
Worked 109 rounds before starting the mesh lace.
Beaded body:
Best I can tell, beads are Dyna-mites 6/0 in red-lined translucent. Started in round 40, one bead on every 8th stitch, every 5 rows.
Beaded lace mesh:
Beading every 6th stitch.
R3: starting with stitch 5
R7: starting with stitch 1
R11: starting with stitch 3
R15: as R3
R19: as R7
R23: as R11
R27: as R3
Worked to RC29, then bound off using the stretchy bind-off method.
And that’s all I have right now. See you soon!
Beautiful
Thank you!
